This card could be beneficial in a deck focused on Xyz Monsters, as it provides a way to weaken your opponent's monsters based on the number of Xyz Materials you have. However, its restriction of not being able to be Special Summoned and changing to Defense Position upon Normal Summon may limit its effectiveness. Decks that can easily bring out Xyz Monsters and have ways to utilize banished cards may find some use for Overlay Sentinel, but there may be better options available depending on the specific strategy of the deck.
