Price of Fame would be beneficial in a deck that focuses on controlling the board by targeting legendary creatures for removal and gaining card advantage through surveil. However, there are potentially better removal spells in black that offer more versatility or efficiency, such as Murder or Fatal Push, which may see more play in competitive decks. Price of Fame could still be a solid inclusion in certain decks that can take advantage of its cost reduction and surveil ability.
