This Wall of Shards card could be beneficial in a control deck that focuses on stalling the game and gaining incremental advantages. While it provides a solid defensive option with flying and cumulative upkeep, the downside of giving your opponent life can be mitigated in a deck that can capitalize on the board stall and potentially outvalue the opponent in the long run. However, there are likely better options available for similar roles in a deck, such as Wall of Omens or Wall of Blossoms, which do not have the drawback of giving your opponent life and provide additional card advantage.
