While it offers a powerful Fusion Summon option, there are other cards like Polymerization or Super Polymerization that might provide more flexibility or utility, especially since they don't impose a life point cost for banishing from the Extra Deck. However, Heavy Polymerization can still see play in specific builds that can mitigate its drawbacks and capitalize on its ability to summon powerful Fusion Monsters efficiently.
