Crystalline Crawler wäre in einem mehrfarbigen Deck von Vorteil, das verschiedene Manafarben erzeugen kann, sodass es mit mehreren +1/+1-Marken ins Spiel kommen und möglicherweise Manafixierung bewirken kann. Allerdings gibt es bessere Karten wie „Arcbound Ravager“ oder „Walking Ballista“, die bei bestimmten Strategien eine größere unmittelbare Wirkung oder Flexibilität bieten, was Crystalline Crawler zu einer situativen Ergänzung macht, die in kompetitiven Decks möglicherweise nicht weit verbreitet ist.
