However, there are better options available in the current Magic: The Gathering card pool, such as Griselbrand or Razaketh, the Foulblooded, which provide powerful effects without the drawback of having to sacrifice a creature each turn. While Lord of the Pit has a nostalgic appeal for some players, it may not see much play in competitive decks due to its high cost and downside.
