Dark Remedy would be beneficial in a black-based aggro or midrange deck looking to increase the toughness of a key creature to help it survive combat or removal spells. However, there are better options available, such as Undying Evil or Supernatural Stamina, which provide similar effects while also offering additional benefits like returning the creature to the battlefield. Dark Remedy may not see much play in competitive decks due to its limited impact compared to other cards with similar effects.
