About Render Silent

Render Silent, Instant, designed by Kev Walker first released in May, 2020 in the set Magic Online Promos and was printed exactly in 5 different ways. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of 7.98.

A control deck focused on disrupting the opponent's spells would benefit from using Render Silent in Magic: the Gathering. While Render Silent is a solid counterspell that can shut down an opponent's spellcasting for a turn, there are arguably better options like Cryptic Command, which offers more versatility with additional modes. Whether Render Silent should see play depends on the specific strategy and card pool of the deck, but it can be a valuable tool in the right circumstances.

A spell that “can’t be countered” is a legal target for Render Silent. The spell won’t be countered when Render Silent resolves, but that spell’s controller won’t be able to cast spells for the rest of the turn.
