A deck focused on gaining life consistently, such as a white lifegain deck in Magic: the Gathering, would benefit from using Light of Promise as it can quickly grow a creature to be a significant threat. However, there are better cards like Heliod, Sun-Crowned that provide a similar effect with additional benefits, making them more versatile and powerful choices. Light of Promise could see play in a casual or budget deck, but in competitive settings, it may be outclassed by stronger options.

If enchanted creature is dealt lethal damage at the same time that you gain life, it won’t receive a counter from its ability in time to save it.
