This card, Open the Way, would benefit a deck that focuses on ramping quickly and efficiently in multiplayer games with a high number of players. Decks that aim to accelerate their mana production and get ahead in the early game would find this card useful. However, there are better options available, such as Cultivate or Kodama's Reach, which guarantee a set number of land cards without the restriction of X being limited by the number of players. Overall, Open the Way may not see much play in competitive decks due to its limitations compared to more consistent ramp options.
