Sewer Shambler, Creature — zombie, designed by Nils Hamm first released in Oct, 2012 in the set Return to Ravnica and was printed exactly in 2 different ways. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of £ 0.01.
A deck that focuses on graveyard recursion and creature buffs would benefit from using Sewer Shambler, especially in a black-heavy deck with plenty of Swamps to enable its Swampwalk ability. While Sewer Shambler's Scavenge ability can provide a nice boost to another creature, there are potentially better options like Varolz, the Scar-Striped, which offers a similar effect but with more flexibility and potential for synergy in a graveyard-centric deck. Sewer Shambler could see play in specific graveyard-themed decks looking for additional ways to buff creatures and utilize the graveyard, but it may not be a top-tier choice in more competitive settings.

Exiling the creature card with scavenge is part of the cost of activating the scavenge ability. Once the ability is activated and the cost is paid, it’s too late to stop the ability from being activated by trying to remove the creature card from the graveyard.
