A deck that focuses on ramping up its mana base with a high number of Forests would benefit greatly from including Dungrove Elder, as its power and toughness scale with the number of Forests controlled, making it a potentially massive threat with built-in protection from targeted removal thanks to its Hexproof ability. While there may be other powerful options in the same mana cost range, such as Tarmogoyf or Scavenging Ooze, Dungrove Elder's resilience to removal and potential for growth make it a solid choice for decks looking to establish a strong board presence.
