Enroll in the Coalition Playtest would be beneficial in a White Weenie or Aggro deck that relies on protecting key creatures or disrupting the opponent's strategy by forcing them to target Flagbearers. While this card can be situationally useful, a more versatile option could be Standard Bearer, which not only serves as a Flagbearer but also has the ability to redirect spells that target creatures you control to itself, offering more control over the opponent's actions. Enroll in the Coalition Playtest could see play in specific metagames where targeted spells are prevalent, but its effectiveness may vary depending on the overall strategy of the deck and the current meta.

Activated abilities contain a colon. They’re generally written “[Cost]: [Effect].” Some keywords are activated abilities and will have colons in their reminder text. Triggered abilities (written with “when,” “whenever,” or “at”) don’t have to target a Flagbearer.

Flagbearer is a creature type, but while you control Enroll in the Coalition, you’re not a creature. You can’t be the target of spell or abilities that target creatures but not players, even if those spells or abilities affect Flagbearers specifically.
