This card could be beneficial in a Warlock deck that focuses on discarding high-cost cards for value, such as a Handlock or Control Warlock deck. However, the downside of discarding your highest-cost card may not always be worth the potential benefit of gaining two copies of it back. There are better cards like Doomguard or Soulwarden that provide more immediate value and consistency, making Expired Merchant less likely to see play in competitive decks.
