About Seraph of the Sword

Seraph of the Sword, Creature — angel, designed by Jaime Jones first released in Jul, 2013 in the set Magic 2014. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of 94.59.

This card would be beneficial in a control deck that focuses on stalling the game and protecting key creatures. While Seraph of the Sword offers great protection with its ability to prevent all combat damage dealt to it, there are potentially better options like Avacyn, Angel of Hope, which provides indestructibility to all your permanents. Whether Seraph of the Sword should see play depends on the specific strategy and synergy of the deck, but it could be a valuable addition for decks looking to maintain board presence and survive combat situations.

Rules

07/01/13

If Seraph of the Sword blocks a creature with trample, that creature’s controller must assign 3 damage to Seraph of the Sword (assuming it’s blocking no other creatures, there was no damage marked on it, and nothing has changed its toughness). The remainder can be assigned to the defending player or planeswalker.
