A deck focused on defensive strategies, such as control or midrange decks, would benefit from using Kite Shield to bolster the toughness of key creatures and protect against aggressive strategies. However, there are better equipment cards available, such as Sword of Fire and Ice or Batterskull, which offer additional powerful abilities along with stat boosts. Kite Shield may not see widespread play in competitive decks due to its limited impact compared to other options.
