Octavia, Living Thesis would be a great fit for a spell-heavy control deck that focuses on filling the graveyard with instant and sorcery cards. It can be a powerful finisher with its cost reduction ability and the potential to make a creature 8/8 with Magecraft. While there may be other powerful finishers in Magic: the Gathering, such as Emrakul, the Aeons Torn or Griselbrand, Octavia's unique abilities make it a strong contender for inclusion in decks that can consistently fill their graveyard with spells.

If an effect creates a copy of an instant or sorcery spell, this will also cause the magecraft ability to trigger.

Some effects instruct you to copy an instant or sorcery card in a zone other than the stack. These copies do not cause magecraft abilities to trigger. However, most effects that do this also allow you to cast the copy, and casting the copy will cause magecraft abilities to trigger.
