This card, Energy Storm, would be beneficial in a control deck that aims to stall the game and prevent damage from instant and sorcery spells, while also disrupting opponents' flying creatures. However, there are stronger options available in the current Magic: The Gathering card pool, such as Moat or Ghostly Prison, which provide similar effects more efficiently. Energy Storm may not see much play in competitive decks due to its high cumulative upkeep cost and the existence of more powerful alternatives.
