Decks that can easily meet the cost of discarding 5 cards and have strategies to capitalize on drawing additional cards will find this card useful. However, there are better alternatives like Pot of Greed, which allows you to draw 2 cards without any discard cost, making it a more efficient draw engine. Guarded Treasure may not see widespread play due to its high discard requirement and the existence of more powerful draw cards in the game.
