Coffin Puppets would fit well in a black-based control or midrange deck that focuses on sacrificing lands for value, particularly one that can generate a steady supply of Swamps and has a strategy centered around recursion and attrition. Decks utilizing cards like Liliana of the Veil or The Eldest Reborn can benefit from the synergy of recurring threats while controlling the board. However, there are arguably better options for recursion, such as Grave Titan or Kaya's Guile, which provide immediate board presence or additional utility.
