About Giant Adephage

Giant Adephage, Creature — insect, designed by Christine Choi first released in May, 2020 in the set Gatecrash and was printed exactly in 6 different ways. It see play in 2 formats: Commander and Booster Draft. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of 2.10.

A deck focused on aggressive strategies and token generation would benefit from including Giant Adephage, as it has the potential to rapidly multiply its presence on the battlefield and overwhelm opponents. However, there are more efficient cards for similar effects, such as Avenger of Zendikar or Hornet Queen, which can provide immediate value or have additional abilities. While Giant Adephage can be a fun and flavorful card to include in casual decks, it may not be the most competitive choice for more optimized strategies in Magic: the Gathering.

As the token is created, it checks the printed values of the Giant Adephage it’s copying—or, if the Giant Adephage whose ability triggered was itself a token, the original characteristics of that token as stated by the effect that put it onto the battlefield—as well as any copy effects that have been applied to it. It won’t copy counters on the Giant Adephage, nor will it copy other effects that have changed Giant Adephage’s power, toughness, types, color, or so on. Normally, this means the token will simply be a Giant Adephage. But if any copy effects have affected that Giant Adephage, they’re taken into account.
