This card would be beneficial in a deck that focuses on ramping up lands quickly to have a high land count, such as a ramp or landfall deck. However, there are better alternatives like Lightning Bolt or Abrade that offer more versatility and efficiency in dealing with creatures or other targets, making Ground Assault less likely to see play in competitive Magic: The Gathering decks.
