Inkfathom Divers would be beneficial in a Merfolk tribal deck in Magic: the Gathering, particularly in a blue-heavy deck with Islands to enable its Islandwalk ability. While it provides card selection with its enter-the-battlefield ability, there are potentially stronger Merfolk cards available, such as Silvergill Adept, which offers card draw in addition to being a Merfolk.
