A deck that focuses on a diverse range of basic land types, such as a five-color deck or a deck with a heavy emphasis on land ramp, would benefit most from Shadow Prophecy. While this card can provide card advantage and graveyard fuel, it may be outclassed by more efficient card draw spells like Painful Truths or Dig Through Time in competitive play due to the life loss and limitations on the number of cards drawn. However, in a casual or themed deck centered around land types, Shadow Prophecy could certainly find a place.
