IntroductionThroughout all these years of Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG, a few cards got quite terrible reputations for being extremely essential in certain strategies but, at the same time, also being quite frustrating for those playing them.Eventually, duelists started to consider them "bricks". And, even years after their prime, many of these cards are still remembered as both traumatic and incredibly funny.Check out below the worst Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG garnets of all time! The 10 Worst Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Garnets of All Time10 - Gem-Knight GarnetGem-Knight Garnet is the perfect card to open this list because this entire concept of cards was named after it. It originally garnered the attention of the community when Brilliant Fusion became popular in the meta.As you never really wanted to draw this card naturally, we started to refer to any card that you're forced to use but never expect to see in your opening hand as a "garnet".9 - Mitsurugi MirrorMitsurugi Mirror is the most recent card in this article, and, nonetheless, it already has an interesting reputation. It's a combo piece that you prefer to get as you play instead of drawing it in your opening hand (so, a proper garnet), but it's also essential with Pre-Preparation of Rites, as it is its main target, and Rites only works as a starter if Mirror is in the deck as well.As a result, drawing Mirror early on is usually quite unpleasant. It makes your opening hands a lot worse and, oftentimes, disables one of your best starters when you get it straight away.8 - Fabled LurrieThe Fiendsmith engine introduced a new card to the select group of garnets that are still in the game: Fabled Lurrie. It is extremely efficient when you get it through Fiendsmith's Tract and discard it later, but when you get it in your opening hand, it's dead in your hand and makes this engine considerably worse.7 - Union DriverUnion Driver was nicknamed the "ABC Garnet" when ABC was popular in the meta. It was designed to stay in your deck and enter play through other effects, particularly through Union Hangar. When it showed up in your opening hand, most of the strongest combo lines in this strategy got a lot worse, so it's one of the biggest "bricks" in modern Yu-Gi-Oh!.6 - Wulf, Lightsworn BeastWulf, Lightsworn Beast is quite familiar to Lightsworn players, who are all used to suffering when they draw it. After all, its effect was designed to activate when it is sent from the deck to the graveyard.Furthermore, because you can't normal-summon it, Wulf will often get stuck in your hand when you draw it. This is one of the biggest bricks in the history of the game.5 - Jet SynchronJet Synchron was popular in many competitive strategies throughout the years, particularly when Crystron Halqifibrax was popular. Though it was extremely important for countless combos, players preferred to get it straight from the deck, summoning it straight away with an effect (or from the graveyard, in some cases). Furthermore, getting it in your opening hand could make many other combo lines a lot less efficient.4 - Red-Eyes Fusion, Dark Magician & Red-Eyes Black DragonThe Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon kit introduced nothing more and nothing less than 3 garnets. Dark Magician and Red-Eyes Black Dragon were only played as materials to fusion summon "Dragoon" so many players prayed they stayed in the deck throughout the entire match.Meanwhile, Red-Eyes Fusion was the worst garnet in this engine because, though it summoned "Dragoon", it came with such a heavy restriction that players only wanted to "access" it if they could target it with Predaplant Verte Anaconda.3 - Artifact ScytheDuring the "Scythe Lock" era, Artifact Scythe was one of the scariest cards in the game. However, for those who used it, there was a problem: drawing "Scythe" usually meant losing access to the combo that made it so strong. Like so, it became frustrating in two ways It was one of the most hated cards for anyone facing it and one of the worst garnets for those who played it.2 - Destiny HERO - Celestial & Destiny HERO - DasherThe Destiny HERO Destroyer Phoenix Enforcer kit left its mark on an entire generation of Yu-Gi-Oh! players, but it also forced them to live with two iconic bricks: Destiny HERO - Celestial and Destiny HERO - Dasher. Both were excellent when sent to the graveyard through Fusion Destiny's effect but extremely unpleasant when they showed up in your opening hand. They became synonymous with "bricking" during the DPE era.1 - PSY-Frame DriverIf Gem-Knight Garnet named this concept, PSY-Frame Driver embodied it for good. "Driver", a lifelong friend to PSY-Framegear Gamma and PSY-Framegear Delta, is a card no one wants to draw. The problem is, for some logic-defying reason, it always seems to show up in your opening hand. This is how one of the most iconic Yu-Gi-Oh! memes was born: "Always open with Driver".Final WordsWhat do you think?
