This card, Gilford the Lightning, would greatly benefit a deck focused on swarming the field with multiple monsters, such as a Warrior or a Tribute Summon deck. While its effect of destroying all monsters your opponent controls upon being Tribute Summoned is powerful, it may be situational due to the high cost of 3 tributes. Other cards like Obelisk the Tormentor or Dark Magician of Chaos offer similar board-clearing effects with potentially easier summoning conditions, making them potentially better options depending on the strategy of the deck.
