About Scanner

Scanner, Machine effect monster, designed by Konami first released in June 2022 in the set Crimson Crisis: Special Edition. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of $ 0.19.

Scanner would only have a niche in a casual banish-focused Machine or Chaos deck that can reliably place an opponent’s monster in the banished zone and then exploit Scanner’s temporary copied name, Level, Attribute, or stats for an Extra Deck summon or a name-based requirement; however, this is highly conditional, since it requires a suitable opposing banished monster, uses your Normal Summon, copies no effects, and loses its copied traits at the End Phase. Phantom of Chaos is generally a better copying card because it can copy a monster’s effect as well as its name and ATK, while Copycat is a simpler option for copying an opponent’s on-field monster’s name and stats without requiring it to be banished. Scanner’s ability to copy Level and Attribute is somewhat unique, but that advantage is too narrow to justify it in competitive decks, so it should generally not see play outside of themed, casual, or experimental banish/Machine builds.
