Introduction
Yu-Gi-Oh is full of characters and monsters that left their mark on generations of fans. However, many of them never got the space they deserved in the TCG, and it's common to see iconic cards being left behind.
So, we decided to go through a few classic monsters and characters and give them archetypes of their own. Would they be good enough for the current meta?
Check out below 10 classic Yu-Gi-Oh! monsters and characters that deserve an archetype of their own!
Classic Yu-Gi-Oh Monsters and Characters that Deserve an Archetype of Their Own
1 - Beaver Warrior
Beaver Warrior is a very simple monster that actually has a lot of potential, story-wise. An archetype inspired by it could include a "Kingdom of Beavers", with other characters of this species and a medieval aesthetic in a prairie setting.

Its main mechanic could be combining Beavers to buff ATK and protect yourself against enemy effects. It would be a very charismatic and functional archetype this way.
2 - Blair Flanningan
Blair Flanningan played a "love deck" centered around Maiden in Love, which marks monsters with "love counters".

A Blair Flanningan archetype could still center around Maiden in Love but also bring the concept of "love counters" to the 21st century. It could be a control archetype that "seduces" enemy monsters to make them useless.
3 - Celtic Guardian
Celtic Guardian is one of the most iconic monsters in the franchise, but it never got the space it deserved. An archetype centered around it would be an excellent opportunity to explore the concept of Elvish tribes in Yu-Gi-Oh!, with fast warriors and nature-based spellcasters.

Warrior monsters in this archetype could have effects related to the Combat Phase, while spellcasters could have various interactive quick effects. Furthermore, they could also explore Celtic mythology, which would certainly enrich the lore surrounding the archetype.
4 - Dark Magician Girl
Dark Magician Girl is extremely popular, but she still lives in the shadow of Dark Magician. An archetype centered around her could explore the concept of autonomy, evolution, and even female protagonists.

An interesting idea would be to create grown up versions of Dark Magician Girl to distance her from her teen looks. Instead of an apprentice magician, she could be an expert magician in her most powerful form.
5 - Winged Dragon, Guardian of the Fortress #1
Winged Dragon, Guardian of the Fortress #1 is another very simple monster that is backed up by a very strong concept: it is the guardian of a mountain fortress. We can see this clearly in its description and in its other version, Winged Dragon, Guardian of the Fortress #2.

An archetype centered around "Winged Dragon, Guardian of the Fortress" could explore its evolution. The spells in this archetype could be "abilities" that simulate its attacks, like tornados and charges. Meanwhile, the trap cards could simulate its defensive maneuvers.
6 - La Jinn the Mystical Genie of the Lamp
La Jinn the Mystical Genie of the Lamp is also an iconic monster from the Duel Monster era, and its "lamp genie" lore has a lot of potential. Not just because it's rich, but also because there is nothing like it in Yu-Gi-Oh yet.

This theme could be great with ritual summoning. A strategy based around Djinns that "grant wishes" to the player but demand a high cost in exchange would be quite interesting.
7 - Mystical Elf
Mystical Elf is one of the most iconic female monsters in the franchise, but hasn't been explored all that well, unfortunately. She only stands out in cards that support LP and artworks in which she appears to be supporting other monsters, boosting their attacks.

An archetype centered around her could be focused on building a Tower and making it unaffected by enemy effects. It could also gain LP and convert them into ATK, resulting in a monster that gets stronger the more the duelist gains LP.
8 - Silver Fang
Silver Fang also hasn't been explored much, but it is quite interesting, lore-wise, considering wolves are featured in many myths.

An archetype centered around Silver Fang could explore what we traditionally associate with wolves, focusing on moon phases and how each one affects them. The Boss Monster in this strategy could have human-like traits, like a werewolf, to make the entire archetype a bit darker and wilder.
9 - Téa Gardner
Téa Gardner played a deck with cute Fairy monsters, like Shining Friendship, Happy Lover, and Petit Angel. An archetype centered around her could bring new versions of these monsters.

This new archetype could also center around "friendship". The monsters could gain effects when their friends are in play in a sort of control strategy that "soft locks" the opponent.
10 - Vivian Wong
Vivian Wong isn't remembered much, but she has a very interesting style, both visually and lore-wise. After all, she plays a deck centered around martial arts.

An archetype for her could center around "Dragon Lady", her signature card in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters that actually hasn't been released in the TCG yet. This archetype could explore various strikes, techniques, and combat styles, combining a classic Chinese aesthetic with Dragon magic.
