A deck that focuses on tribal synergies, such as Merfolk, Elves, or Goblins, would benefit from using Unnatural Selection as it allows for creature type manipulation to trigger tribal effects. However, there are better cards like Conspiracy or Arcane Adaptation that permanently change creature types, providing more consistent support for tribal strategies. Unnatural Selection could see play in more casual or budget decks where those better options are not available.
