A deck that focuses on Fiend and Spellcaster monsters, such as a Dark Magician or a Dark World deck, would benefit from using Yami as it boosts the ATK/DEF of those monster types. However, there are better Field spell cards available in the current meta, such as Secret Village of the Spellcasters which can shut down your opponent's Spell cards if you control a Spellcaster monster. Therefore, while Yami can be useful in certain situations, it may not be the optimal choice for competitive play.
