A Vampire-themed deck would benefit from using Vampire Retainer as it provides search and recursion for Vampire Spells/Traps and the ability to easily revive itself. However, some players may prefer Vampire Familiar over Retainer for its search ability, unless the deck specifically requires the graveyard recursion effect of Retainer.
