This card, Royal Decree, would greatly benefit a deck that heavily relies on its own Trap cards for control and disruption, such as a Trap-heavy control deck. While Royal Decree can effectively shut down opposing Trap effects, there are better options like Imperial Order which not only negates all Spell effects but also has the ability to destroy itself to prevent its own maintenance cost. However, Royal Decree could still see play as a sideboard option in certain matchups where Trap-heavy strategies are prevalent.
