Un deck Contrôle axé sur l'exploitation de la bibliothèque de l'adversaire bénéficierait de l'inclusion de Chill of Foreboding, car il perturbe leur stratégie tout en offrant un avantage potentiel de carte grâce à sa capacité de flashback. Cependant, il existe des cartes de fraisage plus efficaces, telles que Glimpse the Unthinkable ou Mind Funeral, qui offrent un plus grand potentiel de fraisage pour un coût similaire. Chill of Foreboding pourrait ne pas être largement utilisé dans les decks compétitifs en raison de son coût en mana plus élevé et de son effet de broyage moins impactant par rapport aux autres options disponibles.
