Questa carta sarebbe un ottimo aggiunta a un mazzo bianco di guadagno vita in Magic: the Gathering, poiché fornisce un potente incentivo a guadagnare vita e ti premia con una forte creatura token per farlo. Mentre Crested Sunmare è una scelta forte per un tale mazzo, altre carte come Archangel of Thune o Baneslayer Angel potrebbero offrire un impatto immediato o maggiore versatilità, a seconda della strategia specifica del mazzo. In generale, Crested Sunmare può sicuramente essere giocato nel mazzo giusto e può essere un'aggiunta preziosa per creare una presenza stabile sul campo di battaglia.

Crested Sunmare’s triggered ability cares only whether you gained life in the turn, even if Crested Sunmare wasn’t on the battlefield when that happened. It doesn’t care how much you gained, whether you also lost life, or even whether you lost more life than you gained.

If a creature has been dealt damage, that damage remains marked on it until the cleanup step. If another Horse you control has been dealt lethal damage, and later in the turn Crested Sunmare leaves the battlefield, that Horse will be destroyed.
