Flames of the Firebrand, Sorcery, designed by Steve Argyle first released in May, 2020 in the set Magic 2013 and was printed exactly in 5 different ways. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of 0.28.

A red aggressive or burn deck would benefit from including Flames of the Firebrand, as it provides efficient targeted damage to multiple creatures or players. While there are more powerful burn spells like Lightning Bolt or Lightning Helix, Flames of the Firebrand can still be a solid inclusion for its flexibility in distributing damage. It could see play in decks looking for additional removal or reach in the mid to late game.

You divide the damage as you cast Flames of the Firebrand, not as it resolves. Each target must be assigned at least 1 damage. (In other words, as you put the spell on the stack, you choose whether to have it deal 3 damage to a single target, 2 damage to one target and 1 damage to another target, or 1 damage to each of three targets.)
