About Satyr Hoplite

Satyr Hoplite, Creature — satyr soldier, designed by Mark Zug first released in May, 2014 in the set Journey into Nyx and was printed exactly in 2 different ways. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of 0.09.

A deck that focuses on casting multiple spells targeting its own creatures would benefit from using Satyr Hoplite, as it can quickly grow in power with the Heroic ability. However, there are more efficient red creatures with similar abilities, such as Monastery Swiftspear, which sees more play due to its lower mana cost and potential for faster damage output. Satyr Hoplite could still see play in a deck looking for redundancy or additional Heroic triggers, but may not be a top choice in competitive Magic: the Gathering decks.

Rules

04/26/14

Heroic abilities will resolve before the spell that caused them to trigger.

04/26/14

Heroic abilities won’t trigger when a copy of a spell is created on the stack or when a spell’s targets are changed to include a creature with a heroic ability.
