About Sins of the Past

Sins of the Past, Sorcery, designed by Jeremy Jarvis first released in May, 2020 in the set Ravnica: City of Guilds. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of 5.58.

This card would benefit control or combo decks that rely on powerful instant and sorcery spells in the graveyard for recursion and value. While Sins of the Past can be a useful tool for such strategies, there are more efficient options available such as Snapcaster Mage or Mystic Retrieval that offer similar effects with added flexibility or lower mana cost. Ultimately, the decision to include Sins of the Past in a deck would depend on the specific synergies and playstyle of the deck, but it may not see widespread play in competitive settings due to its higher mana cost and limitations.

Rules

10/01/05

The instant or sorcery card is cast from your graveyard, not your hand. You choose modes, pay additional costs, choose targets, etc. for the spell as normal when casting it. Any X in the mana cost will be 0. Alternative costs can’t be paid.
