Soul Reap, Sorcery, designed by Izzy first released in Jul, 2008 in the set Eventide. It see play in 1 formats: Pauper. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of 4.60.
A deck that focuses on black spells and controlling the board would benefit from including Soul Reap, as it offers efficient removal and potential life loss for the opponent. However, there are potentially better options like Murder or Fatal Push that provide similar removal at a lower cost without the condition of casting another black spell. Whether Soul Reap should see play would depend on the specific strategy and synergy of the deck, as well as the current metagame.

A hybrid creature that’s green and another color is *not* a nongreen creature. Since it’s green, it can’t be nongreen!

Although Soul Reap says it looks for “another black spell,” there’s no requirement that Soul Reap actually be cast (or be black) for this part of its ability to work. For example, if a spell such as Commandeer causes you to gain control of Soul Reap, it’ll still check whether you cast a black spell this turn, even though you didn’t cast Soul Reap itself.
