About the 2-Player Starter Set

Created to make it easier for new players to start playing Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG and immersing themselves in this universe, the 2-Player Starter Set is meant to be the best way for beginners to learn how to duel. This product's greatest features is that, besides being able to use it with a friend, you can also use it to learn on your own!

The 2-Player Starter Set brings a deck focused on xyz-summon and another focused on synchro-summon. Besides this, this product also comes with a didactic comic book that explains Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG's basic mechanics through a scripted duel. That's right! You should replay the story in the comics with this product's decks, and, like so, get familiar with the rules of the game.

2-Player Starter Set Staples

The 2-Player Starter Set was criticized by more experienced players for not making the staples used in the competitive scene cheaper, but, despite this, this product has a few cards that can be useful in other decks that the new player will eventually build!

D.D. Crow is one of the oldest handtraps in this game, but it is still efficient against some competitive decks. Currently, it is quite present in side decks used in the competitive scene.

Dark Hole can be used both as a board breaker and to destroy your own monsters so you can hit their activation triggers. As for Book of Moon, it can be a good interaction both when you go first and when you go second (except against link monsters).

This new product brings 3 different backrow removals which, despite not being the most popular ones in the game, will work for a new player.

Not that impactful in the game, but quite useful as a co-star, Coral Dragon is an interesting card in synchro decks, considering it is an excellent way to scale to class 10 synchro monsters, and, besides this, draws you one card in the process too.

Daigusto Emeral and Castel, the Skyblaster Musketeer are good class 4 xyz monsters, even though they aren't popular currently. These cards can become relevant in the future again, depending on new strategies and decks.

Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder is probably the most popular xyz monster in Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG's competitive scene, and is definitely the best card in this product. Even though it is very familiar to more experienced players, "Zeus" is a card that cheats out the xyz mechanic, and, as a result, I believe it is interesting to put it in a product meant for beginner players, even more because of the story included in the comic book, which will teach them how to use this card correctly.

Is It Worth It to Buy the 2-Player Starter Set?

I believe that buying the 2-Player Starter Set only makes sense for collectors and beginners that don't have the patience to learn how to play Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG through internet videos. This product's decks are extremely basic, and, besides this, it has just a few staples (cards that could be used in other decks later on).

Even then, the didactic comic book story included in this product is beneficial for those who are really just starting out, considering it makes it easy to learn Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG's rules in an uncomplicated way, besides being an accessible guide if this new duelist has any questions at any moment.
