Introduction

The Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series, more commonly known as the YCS, is a series of high-level tournaments that happen primarily in the U.S.A. and Europe, and sporadically in other North and South American countries. YCS are big events; there is usually a main tournament that spans over two days, but there are also smaller tournaments like Win-A-Mat and ATTACK OF THE GIANT CARD!.

There were 18 YCS in 2024: 3 featured the "YCS Team (3x3)" format, and 2 featured the "YCS Remote Duel" format. 21 different players became champions in these 18 events, but only 3 of them won 2 tournaments this year. Furthermore, these 21 players used, in all, 10 different decks.

Decks that Won YCS in 2024

Snake-Eye

Snake-Eye was definitely the best Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG deck in 2024, and dominated all tournaments this year. It won most YCS all around, as it was ranked 1st a total of 11 times. I have to highlight how versatile it is as well. After all, its "pure" version might have won 11 times, but its many different variants, like Fire King, Kashtira, Fiendsmith, and Azamina, also won a few tournaments themselves.

> YCS Team San Jose (February 17th, 2024) Ruben Penaranda, Kamal Crooks, Pak Pamornsut - Snake-Eye 3x.

> YCS Team Las Vegas (February 24th, 2024) Chris Leblanc, Hani Jawhari, Hisam Jawhari - Snake-Eye Fire King 2x; Snake-Eye.

> YCS Sydney (March 8th, 2024) Jason Huang - Snake-Eye.

> YCS Medellin (March 30th, 2024) Cristian Urena - Snake-Eye.

Yubel Fiendsmith

Yubel was the second-best deck this year. It started dominating the meta once the Fiendsmith archetype came out.

> YCS Lille (September 28th, 2024) Noel Hamel - Yubel Fiendsmith.
