Introduction

Pyro monsters are often represented by creatures that control fire, or even personify this element. Most of them carry the fire attribute, but some also carry other attributes.

Another defining trait is that many pyro monsters deal damage to the opponent's life points directly.

Top 10 Pyro Monsters in Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG

10 - Royal Firestorm Guards

To open our list, we have Royal Firestorm Guards, a popular support monster for archetypes centered around other pyro monsters in old Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG formats. That was mainly because of its effect, which, beside drawing you 2 cards, lets you recycle your resources by shuffling them back into your deck.

9 - Barrier Statue of the Inferno

Barrier Statue of the Inferno is an incredibly strong floodgate, as are all other "Barrier Statues". This card is currently not that useful, considering one of the most relevant decks in the last few months played monsters with the fire attribute, so its effect would be useless in a mirror match.

However, I believe that, after these fire attribute decks leave the metagame, some rogue decks that focus on this attribute might start using Barrier Statue of the Inferno to try to counter the other main decks in the format.

8 - Veidos the Eruption Dragon of Extinction

Despite relatively unpopular, Veidos the Eruption Dragon of Extinction is a handtrap that can, potentially, shine in formats in which destroying an opponent's field spell is relevant. Furthermore, this card can also destroy all monsters on the board if your opponent removes it from their board and puts it in their graveyard.

7 - Garunix Eternity, Hyang of the Fire Kings

Garunix Eternity, Hyang of the Fire Kings is an excellent rank 8 xyz monster. It has a lot of potential to break boards, both because of its first effect, which destroys all monsters on the board, and because of its second effect, which destroys a spell or trap. Furthermore, if this card is destroyed while it has material, you can get a follow-up card, as you'll be able to summon "Fire King" monsters from your graveyard.

6 - Volcanic Scattershot

Volcanic Scattershot is a very specific card, and is only useful in tournament matches when your time is running out. In these situations, you'll send it to the graveyard with Spright Sprind (usually) and deal 500 damage to the opponent's life points. This could give you a victory, depending on the circumstances.

5 - Nemeses Flag

Nemeses Flag is an interesting and extremely strong combo piece, considering you can use it to access two of the main floodgate monsters in Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG: Archnemeses Protos, or Thunder Dragon Colossus. Despite not being that popular right now in the main meta decks, it is quite popular in Ritual Beast, one of the main rogue decks in the current format.

4 - Infernal Flame Banshee

Infernal Flame Banshee is a pyro monster searcher and, similar to the card above, is popular in the Ritual Beast archetype. It has also appeared in Snake-Eye variants that played Parallel eXceed in a not so distant past. As it is a ROTA for pyro monsters, "Flame Banshee" can work as an extender or even as a starter.

3 - Snake-Eye Oak

To open our top 3, we finally have a card that is popular in the meta, Snake-Eye Oak. This card is an essential combo piece for Snake-Eye, and also greatly improves this deck's monster spam. Furthermore, it is also quite powerful in the grind game, as it can recycle monsters in this archetype that were banished or are in your graveyard.

2 - Snake-Eyes Poplar

Recently limited, Snake-Eyes Poplar is extremely important for its archetype, which only became relevant competitively after it was released. It is a multifunctional card that usually works as a combo piece, but it can also work as an extender or even a starter, depending on what the player needs.

Besides how important it is as a spell/trap searcher for this archetype, it is crucial for this deck because of its effect, which lets you move 1 fire monster from your graveyard to your spell/trap zone. This is quite relevant for the overall deck strategy.

1 - Snake-Eye Ash

Just like the card above, Snake-Eye Ash was limited in the last banlist, but it is still extremely relevant in the metagame.

Snake-Eye Ash is still the best normal summon monster in the game, as it is solely responsible for connecting the entire Snake-Eye combo. Besides how relevant it is in its own archetype, this card is also strong in other strategies, as it is a ROTA for any fire attribute level 1 monster in the game.
