Introduction

Rage of the Abysslink outside website, the new Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG set, will be here on October 11th, 2024! It will bring to the game great support cards for already existing archetypes and also excellent generic cards that will most likely both impact the current format and define the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG metagame in the following years.

Check out below the best cards from Rage of the Abyss!

Heart of the Blue-Eyes is a support card for the new Exodia deck, which is part of the Millennium archetype. This card adds a lot more consistency to this strategy, and draws Millennium Ankh for you directly. Furthermore, this new version of "Blue-Eyes" is an interaction when it is in your graveyard.

Goblin Bikers Gone Wild is a new starter for Goblin Bikers, and also adds consistency to this archetype because it summons a Goblin from your deck. It is also a level 6 monster, so you'll be able to access class 6 monsters easier with it.

Goblin Biker Grand Breakout is another support card that adds consistency to its list because it summons 1 Goblin from your deck. Its additional effect interacts with your graveyard and helps you finish games.

Goblin Biker Grand Crisis is probably the best trap in this archetype, as it is an interaction that lets you banish one monster on your opponent's board or graveyard. While it is in your graveyard, this card also lets you recycle your banished Goblins by summoning them again on your board.

Fiendsmith will also get new support cards with this set, which will help maintain this engine in the metagame.

Lacrima the Crimson Tears can be both a combo piece and a starter. With it, this engine might actually be a deck instead of just an engine.

As for Fiendsmith's Agnumday, it is a link-3 monster that lets you recycle one of your Light attribute Fiend monsters. It equips itself to that monster, buffs its ATK, and gives it the ability to inflict piercing battle damage.

Mementotlan Akihiron plays multiple roles in its archetype. Most importantly, it is a finisher because it lets you attack your opponent's LP directly. "Akhiron" can also be a follow-up card and an extender.

The new support cards for Abyss/Atlantean/Mermail will make this archetype more playable in the current meta, as well as add more consistency to a strategy that focuses on swarming the board with sea monsters. Furthermore, Poseidra Abyss, the Atlantean Dragon Lord and Mermail King - Neptabyss will give this deck a new way to interact with the enemy and protect itself, respectively.

Six Samurai is another nostalgic archetype that will get more support cards, and hopefully become more modern. Like the archetype above, this deck will swarm the board with monsters more consistently after this set comes along. It also got a new boss monster, Legendary Lord Six Samurai - Shi En, which can negate a monster's effect trigger and destroy it. You can summon this new monster really early on as you play your combo and protect yourself efficiently against possible handtrap interactions.

Eria the Water Channeler is a searcher for Water monsters and will thus join the other elemental searchers in this archetype. Currently, the only searchers we don't have are the Light and Dark searchers, which will probably be the most relevant for the game.

Mulcharmy Fuwalos is certainly the most important card in this set. It might even be the most critical card in the game from here on out because of its effect, which practically makes it a new Maxx "C". It is clearly more limited because of the conditions you need to meet to activate it, but it is still quite powerful.

Azamina is a new super generic engine that will most likely split the metagame alongside Fiendsmith decks. Its main interaction is Azamina Ilia Silvia and its omni negate effect; its archetype includes monstrous versions of Sinful Spoils cards and corrupted versions of White Forest monsters.

Many Snake-Eye players are waiting for this new archetype, as it might just put it back at the top of the metagame.

Centur-Ion Primera Primus is a generic level 8 synchro monster that will make its archetype even more consistent, as well as resilient to low-impact interactions (like monster negates, for instance). That's because, with this new card, this deck will be able to use new engines outside this archetype to access it even before you can normal-summon it.

"Primera Primus" is also protected against destruction in battle and can self-summon itself from your graveyard, so it's very difficult to face.

Final Bringer of the End Times is a fast, and quite useful spell. It will also most likely become a staple because of its versatility. Besides destroying 1 enemy card, if you destroy 1 one of your own monsters in the process, you can use it to play around any interactions that target other cards.

Dominus Impulse is another handtrap that will definitely impact the game because it negates a card or effect that special summons. However, despite having such a strong effect, the new "Dominus" is as limited as the previous one because it prevents you from activating effects on Light, Earth, and Wind monsters for the rest of the duel.

Fire King Courtier Ulcanix is an excellent support card that will most likely bring Fire King to a new level, particularly its purest version. Besides adding more consistency to this archetype, "Ulcanix" can also give you an interaction if you use it to summon Fire King High Avatar Garunix.
